Upon arrival at Geneva Airport at 13:15 local time, we will head to Geneva city center with our vehicle waiting for us at the airport to carry out our city tour. The fact that the headquarters of international organizations (CERN, the World Health Organization, UEFA, FIFA, the United Nations) are located in Geneva places the city in a central position culturally and administratively. During our tour of Geneva, where museums, parks, historical monuments and streets, and clean air come together, the main highlights will include St. Pierre Cathedral, the Jet d’Eau fountain, which has become the symbol of Geneva and rises up to 140 meters, and the Reformation Wall. After breakfast and check-out from the hotel, we depart for Bern. En route, guests who wish may join the optional Annecy Tour (50 Euro). Annecy, which has earned the title of the “Venice of the Alps” thanks to the canals running through it and the Thiou River, captivates visitors with its canal-lined structure and its extraordinary location between the mountains and the lake. During our visit to Annecy, the Château d’Annecy, built in the 17th century and restored in 1947, St. Maurice Church, and the Palais de l’Isle, a favorite spot for photographers, will be seen panoramically. After a short free time on the shores of Lake Annecy, the 3rd largest lake in France, we complete our tour and continue our journey to Bern. Bern is one of the few cities in Europe whose medieval texture has remained unchanged since the Middle Ages. Due to this historical character, it is listed as a UNESCO World Cultural Heritage site. Bern, located within the borders of Switzerland and where German is the official language, also shows the influence of German culture in its architecture. After our tour of Bern, free time will be provided, and guests who wish may join the optional By Train to Swiss Alpine Villages: Interlaken & Lauterbrunnen Tour (80 Euro). Our first stop will be Interlaken. Situated between Lake Brienz and Lake Thun, Interlaken takes its name from “inter-lakes” and is famous for its natural beauty and the enchanting views of these landscapes. We will carry out our tour in Interlaken, where the region’s important hotels, casinos, and shopping streets are located along our walking route. The Victoria Jungfrau Hotel and Höhematte Park, one of the city’s historical symbols, will be seen panoramically. After free time for photos and sightseeing, we head to the train station to continue to Lauterbrunnen, our next stop. After about a 20-minute train journey from Interlaken, we arrive in Lauterbrunnen. We will feel the deep structure of the valley and the steep rock walls as soon as we leave the station. Walking toward the village center, we will panoramically see Staubbach Falls cascading toward the valley floor and have the chance to photograph it. Lauterbrunnen is known for its valley lined with small settlements and walking trails, home to 72 waterfalls. Our next stop will be Riquewihr, famous for its vineyards, flower-filled balconies, distinctive rows of shops, cobblestone streets closed to car traffic, buildings that somehow survived World War II without damage, and charming cafés; with its tower containing the documents that preserve the town’s story, and its Dolder Museum, it resembles a Grimm fairy tale.
