1. DAY ISTANBUL – BARCELONA
Meeting with our valued guests in front of the Turkish Airlines counter at the international departures terminal of Istanbul Airport, 3 hours before the flight time. After baggage drop-off and ticket procedures, we fly to Barcelona on Turkish Airlines scheduled flight. Upon arrival, we enjoy a panoramic Barcelona city tour. Barcelona, the capital of the Autonomous Community of Catalonia and the second-largest city in Spain, is home to the magnificent works of the famous architect Antoni Gaudí and attracts tourists at four times its population thanks to these masterpieces. Among the places to be seen are La Sagrada Familia, also known as the “Unfinished Church,” Plaza de España and Plaza Catalunya, Gaudí’s Houses (Casa Batlló and Casa Milà), La Rambla Street, and Port Olímpic. After the city tour, transfer to the hotel. In the evening, guests who wish may join the Barcelona Night & Gothic Quarter Tour, organized as an optional extra by our guide (30 Euro). In this tour, we will have the chance to see Barcelona, known as the sleepless city of Europe, illuminated at night. Then we head to the Gothic Quarter, which we have not visited before. After visiting Barcelona Cathedral, the Temple of Augustus, and Carrer del Bisbe, the most famous street in the area, free time for dinner. Then transfer to the hotel. Overnight at our hotel.
2. DAY BARCELONA
After breakfast at the hotel, guests who wish may join the Girona & Figueres & Mercat de la Boqueria Tour, organized as an optional extra by our guide (85 Euro). We begin our tour with Girona, located on the banks of the Onyar River and resembling Florence at first glance, the richest city in the region. Girona is a charming medieval city worth seeing with its narrow streets and cathedral; it is also the city where the film adaptation of Perfume was shot. On our panoramic tour, we will see the Lion statue, Cathedral Square, the houses with mezuzahs, the Jewish Quarter, Rambla, and famous shops. After free time, we continue to Figueres, accompanied by the views of the Pyrenees Mountains. This town has such an impressive atmosphere that it was a source of inspiration throughout his life for the boundary-breaking painter Salvador Dalí, admired by the entire world. Here we will visit the museum-house decorated by the famous surrealist painter Salvador Dalí himself. After visiting this museum, where the value of each work is expressed in millions of dollars and where the works depicting his immortal love Gala and his mind-bending creations are exhibited, there will be free time. Then we head to the city center and La Rambla Street. Our next stop is Mercat de la Boqueria, the market located on Barcelona’s most touristic street, La Rambla. Considered Spain’s most famous shopping point, and meaning “market” in Spanish, “mercat” is one of the most authentic places where you can experience the shopping culture of the country and observe local habits. Free time will be given here. In the evening, guests who wish may join the Flamenco Night, which will be organized as an optional extra (55 Euro). Overnight at our hotel.
3. DAY BARCELONA – MADRID
After breakfast at the hotel, we depart for Madrid by private bus. Along the way, guests who wish may join the Zaragoza Tour, organized as an optional extra along the route by our guide (30 Euro). In our tour, places to be seen include the Ebro River, Pilar Cathedral, the city’s central cathedral, La Seo Cathedral, San Pablo Church, Plaza España, and the Pilar Bridge. After the tour, we continue on our way to Madrid. Our panoramic Madrid city tour begins with Plaza Mayor, the large square. This square has 136 buildings and 437 balconies opening onto courtyards. In the past, bullfights and people burned by the Inquisition were watched from these balconies. The heart of the city, Puerta del Sol, Plaza Mayor, Plaza de Oriente, where the Royal Palace addresses the public, Alcalá Gate, built as an entrance gate to showcase the city’s wealth, Gran Via with its arcaded roofs, Plaza Colón, and Cibeles Square and Fountain, as well as the Cervantes Monument, are among the places to be seen. After the tour, we return to the hotel. Overnight at our hotel.
4. DAY MADRID
After breakfast at the hotel, free time. Guests who wish may join the Toledo Tour, organized as an optional extra (70 Euro). Toledo is a true open-air museum and Spain’s former capital, one of the most important cities on the UNESCO World Heritage list. The country’s most impressive cathedral hosts works by world-famous painters, making it compete with some of the world’s leading museums. Known as the city of El Greco, Toledo has remained unchanged since the 16th century. Buildings bearing traces of Roman, Visigothic, Arab, Gothic, and Renaissance architecture, narrow streets, paintings by El Greco, typical pastry shops, Damascene shops, and of course its famous cathedral make it a tourist attraction. Another tradition in Toledo is the production of marzipan, dating back to the time when the Arabs conquered the city. This sweet delicacy is a must-try before leaving Toledo. After our walk through the Jewish Quarter, we head back to Madrid. Overnight at our hotel.
5. DAY MADRID – ISTANBUL
After breakfast, transfer to Madrid Airport according to the flight time. After completing baggage and check-in procedures, we depart for Istanbul on Turkish Airlines scheduled flight. Arrival in Istanbul and end of our tour.
