Great Iceland and Greenland Tour 11 Nights 12 Days with Iceland Air Airlines
1. DAY | ISTANBUL – REYKJAVIK (ICELAND) 1225 1520
Meeting at Istanbul Airport at 09:30 and departure to Reykjavik at 12:25 with Icelandair. After an approximately 5 hour 55 minute flight, arrival in Reykjavik, the capital of Iceland, at 15:20 local time.
After passport control, transfer to the city center by our waiting vehicle.
Following a brief introduction and panoramic drive, we get our first impressions of Reykjavik. We then proceed to our 3-star standard hotel located in the city center and check in.

Location: Reykjavik city center – within walking distance of restaurants and shopping areas.
Free time in the evening. Guests who wish may take a light walk in the city center with the guide or enjoy Icelandic cuisine at local seafood restaurants.
2. DAY | REYKJAVIK CITY TOUR – “First Discovery” BLUE LAGOON
After breakfast, we set out to discover Iceland’s colorful capital. Reykjavik is a calm city that blends the serenity of the north with modern art and design. We begin our city tour with the iconic Hallgrímskirkja Church. We stop in front of the church and admire Reykjavik’s pastel-colored houses and the snow-covered mountains in the distance. For those who wish, it is possible to go up the church tower for a panoramic view.
Next, we walk along Skólavörðustígur, the city’s main street, and see the colorful art shops and boutique cafés. From there, we take a short transfer to the Old Harbor area. Here we view the Harpa Concert Hall, one of the most elegant examples of modern architecture in the city, from the outside, and admire the reflection of the sky and sea on its glass façade.
Continuing along the coast, we arrive at the Sun Voyager (Sólfar) sculpture. This graceful, ship-shaped monument symbolizing Viking culture beautifully reflects Iceland’s spirit of exploration. Afterward, we take a short break and enjoy coffee at seaside cafés with those who wish.
We then head to the Blue Lagoon, Iceland’s most famous geothermal wonder. In the middle of lava fields, with its turquoise waters steaming into the sky, Blue Lagoon is both relaxing and visually breathtaking. Guests who wish may swim in these mineral-rich thermal waters, enjoy a clay mask treatment, or simply sip their drinks on the café terrace and enjoy this unique atmosphere.

3. DAY | GOLDEN CIRCLE TOUR – THREE WONDERS OF NATURE
After breakfast, we set off on Iceland’s most famous route, the Golden Circle. This route brings together the power of nature at three different points: Thingvellir National Park, the Geysir geothermal area, and Gullfoss Waterfall.
Our first stop is Thingvellir National Park, which is on UNESCO’s World Heritage List. Here we walk through the rift valley where Europe and America’s tectonic plates separate, and observe the clear waters flowing between volcanic rock formations. This area is also a historic center where the world’s first parliament, “Althingi,” was founded. Here, Iceland’s nature and identity come together.
After leaving the park, we arrive at the Geysir Geothermal Area. Known for the hot springs rising from underground, this area is famous for the Strokkur Geyser, which erupts up to 30 meters every few minutes. We take a short walk in this region where steam rises and the ground turns sulfur-colored, and feel the power of nature up close.
Around lunchtime, we stop at a small local restaurant in the area; we have a light lunch with traditional soup, fish, or sandwich options (meal not included).
Our final stop of the day is Gullfoss Waterfall, one of Iceland’s most famous natural wonders. Cascading into a deep canyon in two tiers, this waterfall enchants visitors with rainbows appearing in the mist on sunny days. We provide free time for wonderful photos from the observation terraces.
In the late afternoon, we return to Reykjavik. Along the way, we watch Iceland’s typical farmhouses, horse herds, and glacial valleys as we head back to the city.

4. DAY | SOUTH ICELAND – WATERFALLS AND BLACK SAND BEACHES
After breakfast, we depart for the South Coast route, one of the most impressive regions in Iceland. This area is considered to contain the country’s richest natural beauty. Along the way, we travel among lava fields, moss-covered hills, and small farmhouses.
Our first stop is Seljalandsfoss Waterfall, one of the country’s icons. This waterfall is famous for the path that allows you to walk behind the falling sheet of water. If weather conditions are suitable, we pass behind the waterfall and take unique photos.
Our next stop is Skógafoss Waterfall, known for its powerful waters falling from about 30 meters. We take short walks around the waterfall and breathe in the atmosphere of a typical Icelandic village. When the weather is clear, seeing a rainbow in the mist of the waterfall is almost guaranteed.
Around lunchtime, we stop at a small village restaurant or a gas station café along the way. After a short break with hot soup, sandwiches, and coffee options, we continue our route.
The day’s most impressive stop is Reynisfjara Black Sand Beach. Located on the Atlantic Ocean coast, this beach is one of the most extraordinary shores in the world with its volcanic basalt columns, giant waves, and black sand. The Reynisdrangar rocks opposite are known in legend as trolls turned to stone. We walk along the beach and admire this magical scenery.
In the evening, we begin our return journey to Reykjavik. On the way back, we make a short photo stop and have the chance to observe the country’s peaceful nature.

5. DAY | REYKJAVIK - GREENLAND (NUUK / GOH) POLAR JOURNEY 0945 1005
After breakfast, we check out of the hotel.
Today, we go beyond the north and embark on an unforgettable journey to Greenland, the world’s largest island. After transfer to the airport, we take an Icelandair domestic flight from Reykjavik to Nuuk (GOH) Airport. During the approximately 2 hour 20 minute flight, ice masses over the Atlantic and white fjords can be seen from the plane window.
Upon arrival in Greenland, after passport procedures, we transfer to our hotel with a short city transfer.
After settling into the hotel, we take a short walking tour with our guide to get our first impressions. With its colorful wooden houses, quiet streets, and small harbor by the sea, Nuuk reflects the peaceful side of the North.
Free time in the evening. Those who wish may try Greenlandic fish soup or reindeer meat specialties at cafés near the hotel.

6. DAY | GREENLAND – GLACIERS AND FJORDS
After breakfast, we set out to explore Greenland’s breathtaking nature. Starting from Nuuk harbor, we take a short boat trip among glaciers and fjords where the sea and land blend together. Along the way, while gliding through massive ice chunks, arctic gulls, seals, and occasionally whales accompany the scenery.
After listening to nature’s breath in the silence of the fjord, we return to the shore and visit the local fishing pier and the seaside town surrounded by colorful houses. Guests who wish may take a lunch break at small cafés in the harbor area with hot soup or fish burgers.
In the afternoon, together with our guide, we visit Nuuk Art Museum and the National History Museum, some of Greenland’s main cultural sites. Traditional kayaks, masks, and hunting tools from the Inuit era reflect the deep-rooted culture of the North.
In the late afternoon, we return to our hotel. At sunset, those who wish may join a short walk with the guide to a viewpoint overlooking the fjord. If the sky is clear, the Northern Lights (Aurora Borealis) may be visible on the horizon.

7. DAY | GREENLAND – LOCAL LIFE AND INUIT CULTURE
After breakfast, today we will get to know Greenland’s heart, its people, and its culture up close. On our walking tour starting in the city center, we see the city’s landmarks such as Nuuk Town Hall, the Katuaq Cultural Center, and the Episcopal Cathedral.
We then move on to the local market area. Here we witness the daily life of the Inuit people; fish, seal, reindeer meat, and traditional handicrafts are sold at the stalls. Local garments made from colorful fabrics and small carvings reflect the unique details of Greenlandic culture.
Free time at lunchtime. Guests may enjoy a pleasant lunch break with Greenland salmon or seafood menus at small restaurants in the harbor area.
In the afternoon, together with our local guide, we visit the Inuit Culture Center dedicated to the history and traditions of the Kalaallit people. Traditional house types, hunting equipment, and clothing made from reindeer hides are exhibited here.
In the evening, return to the hotel. If the weather is clear, another short Aurora Borealis observation stop may be made outside the city. The quiet fjord scenery and dancing lights become one of the tour’s unforgettable moments.

8. DAY | GREENLAND - REYKJAVIK – 1105 1525
After breakfast, we check out of the hotel. Today, we say goodbye to Greenland, the land of white silence. After transfer to the airport, we return to Reykjavik from Nuuk by Icelandair domestic flight. During the flight, the glaciers seen from the window, floating ice islands on the ocean, and distant fjords offer one last look at the grandeur of the North.
Upon arrival in Reykjavik, we transfer to our hotel with the vehicle waiting for us at the airport. After settling in, we spend the rest of the day resting or taking short walks in the city. After long polar days, Reykjavik’s lively streets, shops, and café atmosphere once again bring the warmth of returning to the city.
For those who wish, a small group walk may be organized in the evening. During this light walk along the coastal line, beautiful photo opportunities can be captured with the sea and city lights at sunset.

9. DAY | REYKJAVIK – AKUREYRI ROAD DAY (JOURNEY TO THE NORTH OF ICELAND)
After breakfast, we begin our road journey to the north of Iceland. Today we will travel along the Ring Road route connecting the island’s two major regions. This approximately five to six hour drive passes through some of Iceland’s most impressive scenery: lava fields, fjord coasts, mountain passes, and small fishing villages.
Along the way, we stop briefly in Borgarnes for coffee. Then we make a short walk and photo stop on the coastline near Hvammstangi, where seals are frequently seen. At each stop, depending on weather conditions, lava fields, small waterfalls, and sea-view viewpoints can be observed.
Around lunchtime, we stop at a suitable local restaurant; a light lunch with homemade soup, hot bread, and fish dishes is available (not included).
As we head toward Akureyri in the afternoon, the valleys narrow and the green tones of the north give way to snow-covered slopes. In the late afternoon, we arrive in Akureyri, known as the northern capital of Iceland. The city offers a warm atmosphere with its fjord-side location, colorful houses, and small harbor.
After settling into the hotel, rest. Guests who wish may take an evening walk to get to know the city briefly or try local cuisine at small restaurants in the harbor. Overnight in Akureyri at Hotel Kea 3* or similar.
10. DAY | MÝVATN LAKE AND THE NATURAL WONDERS OF THE NORTH
After breakfast, we depart from Akureyri and head to the enchanting Mývatn Lake region in northern Iceland. Along the way, we continue amid snow-covered valleys, steaming lava fields, and small waterfalls. This route is famous for being Iceland’s most active geothermal area.
Our first stop is Goðafoss Waterfall, shaped by volcanic activity. Meaning “Waterfall of the Gods,” this magnificent natural formation is one of the most photogenic spots in the north. Here we take a short walk and watch the water flow down into the valley.
We then arrive at the Mývatn Lake area. This region is known as a paradise for bird watchers; around the lake are many craters, lava columns, and small islets. As we walk here, we feel both the scenery and the silence.
Around the lake, we visit the Dimmuborgir Lava Field and the Skútustaðagígar Craters. This natural landscape formed by lava columns is known in legends as the “dark castles.”
Around lunchtime, we stop at a café in the area; after a short break with hot soup and bread, we continue our route.
The day’s final stop is the Hverir Geothermal Area, known for its boiling mud pools. Here, amid rising steam and sulfur smell from underground, we feel Iceland’s volcanic energy up close.
In the late afternoon, we return to Akureyri. Guests who wish may have free time in the city center: small shops, cafés, and a harbor walk provide a pleasant end to the day.

11. DAY | AKUREYRI – REYKJAVIK RETURN DAY (WITH BEAUTIFUL STOPS)
After breakfast, we leave Akureyri and begin our return journey south through Iceland’s northern valleys. Today is not just a transfer day; we will once again see different faces of Iceland by making several enjoyable stops along the way.
Our first stop is the Eyjafjörður Fjord view, a short distance from Akureyri. Here we take a brief photo break and admire the mountains stretching along the fjord in the morning light.
Further along the road, we stop in the town of Blönduós. This small and charming town is worth seeing for both its local character and its location on the river. We pause here for tea and coffee and witness Icelandic rural life.
Around lunchtime, we stop near Borgarnes; here, a light lunch may be enjoyed with a small museum or local restaurant option. Along the route, we continue on the safe and comfortable paved section of the Ring Road.
In the late afternoon, arrival in Reykjavik. After settling into the hotel, a short rest. Guests who wish may take an evening walk in the city or complete their final shopping.

12. DAY | REYKJAVIK – ISTANBUL 1500 2355
After breakfast, we check out of the hotel. After the quiet days spent in the North, it is now time to return home.
A short free time is given in the morning; those who wish may take one last walk through Reykjavik’s colorful streets or finish their souvenir shopping.
Transfer to the airport at the specified time. After check-in and passport procedures, we depart from Reykjavik to Istanbul with an Icelandair flight. After an approximately six-hour flight, we arrive in Istanbul in the afternoon.
Thus, we complete this fascinating Northern journey stretching from lava fields to glaciers, from Greenland’s fjords to Iceland’s warm waters.
As we say goodbye to our participants, the lights of the Aurora, the northern wind, and the white silence will now remain in all of our memories.

In other words, if you have a SCHENGEN visa, an entry visa for GREENLAND will be obtained from a DANISH embassy. We will inform you. For those whose Schengen visa is not ready, it is more appropriate to obtain the new Schengen visa from Denmark.
