Day 1: Trabzon – Skopje
Meet at Trabzon Airport departure terminal in front of Ajet Airlines counter 3 hours before the flight. Depart from Trabzon to Skopje directly with Ajet Airlines scheduled flight. After approximately two hours of a comfortable journey, we will arrive in the capital of North Macedonia, Skopje. After arrival, we will transfer to our hotel. Overnight stay at our hotel.
Day 2: Skopje – Pristina – Prizren – Skopje
After breakfast, we leave our hotel to head towards the capital of Kosovo, Pristina. After the journey, we will start our panoramic city tour, where we will explore both the modern and historical aspects of Kosovo. During this tour, we will visit one of Pristina's most important natural beauties, Germia Park. Next, we will see the Kosovo Museum, which showcases Kosovo’s cultural heritage. During our tour, we will also visit several valuable structures from the Ottoman period. We will see the Fatih Sultan Mehmed Mosque and the 18th-century Yaşar Paşa Mosque. While exploring the city’s historical heritage, we will visit the Tomb of Sultan Murad I, who was killed in the Battle of Kosovo in 1389, giving us the opportunity to commemorate this significant historical event and its place in Ottoman history. After our tour in Pristina, we will move to Prizren, known as the cultural capital of Kosovo. Upon arrival, we will begin to explore the narrow streets of Prizren, reminiscent of an Anatolian Ottoman city, filled with shop signs in Turkish. We will visit the Sinan Pasha Mosque, one of the most important examples of Ottoman architecture in the city. Other significant Ottoman works to be seen include the Halveti Tekke, the Flag Mosque, and the Mehmet Pasha Hamam. After our free time in Prizren, we will start our return journey to Skopje.
Dinner: An unforgettable dinner awaits you with traditional Balkan music and local dance performances. You will have the chance to experience the entertaining and cultural side of Skopje during this special Balkan evening, hosted at one of the finest venues in the region, Restaurant Gardenia. With the best music and folklore from the Balkans performed live by artists consisting entirely of conservatory students and teachers, we will turn this night into an authentic experience. Here, we will visit the Alaca Mosque, one of the most colorful and striking mosques in the Balkans, built in the 15th century. Its vivid colors and detailed decorations on the exterior will fascinate you. While exploring this exquisite example of Ottoman architecture, we will embark on a journey into history. After our visit to Tetovo, we will travel to Ohrid. The breathtaking views along the way will accompany us. Upon arrival in Ohrid, we will conduct a tour introducing the historic city of Ohrid, which was one of the key strongholds of the Ottomans in the Balkans. During our tour, we will see the Monument of Saints Cyril and Methodius, who are believed to have developed the Cyrillic alphabet in the 9th century, the Church of St. Sophia, and the Ancient Theatre from the Roman period. We will also have the opportunity to stroll through the main square, Çınar Meydanı, and visit the old Turkish Bazaar from the Ottoman period. You may visit the Halveti Tekke and get a close-up feel of the city’s cultural fabric. Afterwards, we will explore the new market and Ohrid Market, witnessing the daily lives of the local people. In this beautiful city, we will have an impressive tour exploring the area, considered the center of Bektashism in Europe. Upon arrival in Tirana, we will visit the Ethem Bey Mosque, one of Albania's cultural heritages, which began construction in 1789 and was completed in 1923. We will take a short break at Skanderbeg Square to see the Skanderbeg Statue proudly standing in the middle of the square. The Clock Tower, built by Ethem Bey in 1821, is also one of the highlights of our tour. Next, we will visit the Peace Bell, made from lead melted by children from Shkodra during the uprising in 1999. After a brief free time in this magnificent natural landscape, we will travel to Mostar. In Mostar, we will see the Mostar Bridge, built in 1557 by Architect Hayreddin. This masterpiece of Ottoman architecture was destroyed during the war in 1992 by Croatian artillery but was reopened in 2004 with significant contributions from the Republic of Turkey. After visiting the Mostar Bridge, we will visit Koski Mehmet Pasha Mosque. We then continue our journey to Sarajevo. Upon arrival, we will conduct a panoramic city tour of Sarajevo, which has historically been the cultural capital of the Balkans and is noted for the assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand of Austria-Hungary in 1914, which sparked World War I. The city suffered extensive damage during the 1992 war among Serbs, Croats, and Bosnians, yet Sarajevo has largely managed to preserve its beauty. During our visit, we will see the four-arched house where the treaty was signed, as well as the square, four lion fountains, the historic high school, and the Orthodox and Catholic churches. After a coffee break, we will continue our journey. Along the way, we will see the Belgrade Gate, the clock tower, the Upper Town, the Long Barracks, and Leopold Gate at Petrovaradin Fortress. Next, we will arrive in Novi Sad. Vojvodina is a multi-ethnic province in northern Serbia and is the most developed region economically, with Novi Sad as its capital. During our walking tour here, we will see the Freedom Square, the People’s Theatre, the Danube Street and waterfront, the Svetozar Miletić Statue, the Catholic Cathedral, the Orthodox St. George Cathedral, St. Nicholas Church, and the Synagogue panoramically.
