Day 1: Istanbul Airport – Catania After entering through Gate 3 at Istanbul Airport, we meet our valued guests in front of Turkish Airlines international departures F check-in counters (counters 1–27) at 05:00 and complete check-in procedures. We depart for Catania on Turkish Airlines flight TK1393 at 06:55. We arrive in Catania at 08:25 local time. We head toward Mount Etna with the vehicle waiting for us. As we move toward Etna, we have the opportunity to take magnificent photos of Mount Etna, which welcomes us with its vegetation and scenery. While ascending Europe’s highest active volcanic mountain, we will see the 2nd crater, Silvestri, at 1,800 meters along the way. Don’t forget to collect some smoking pieces of rock as a souvenir! Afterwards, we continue our tour amid many beautiful landscapes where we can take photos in the region formed by the lava of Mount Etna. From there, we proceed to Syracuse. In Syracuse, the city where the famous mathematician Archimedes lived, the Arethusa Fountain, the Cathedral, Diana Fountain, and the Temple of Apollo are among the places to be seen. After the tour, we head to the hotel, check in, and have free time. Overnight at our hotel. Day 2: Savoca – Taormina – Giardini Naxos – Catania After breakfast, we begin our full-day excursion at the time previously determined by our guide. On our Savoca, Taormina, and Giardini Naxos tour, we will see the places where the world-famous film The Godfather was shot. Then, Bar Vitelli and San Michele Church are among the places to be seen. After walking through cinematic streets, we head to Taormina, the pearl of the Ionian Sea and one of Sicily’s most beautiful coastal towns. After visiting this charming town with its incomparable scenery, its location on the slopes of Mount Tauro, its streets, and its souvenir shops, we move on to Giardini Naxos, famous for its colorful streets and volcanic beach. In this cultural mosaic, first settled by the Greeks in the 6th century BC, and later inhabited by Phoenicians and Romans, you can capture unforgettable images. After the visit, we return to our hotel. Day 3: Catania – Cefalù – Palermo After breakfast, we complete our check-out procedures and head to Catania city center. On our panoramic city tour, Duomo Cathedral, Fontana dell’Elefante, Republic Square (Piazza Repubblica), and Etna Street are among the places to be seen. Then we arrive in Cefalù. In this charming fishing town on the Tyrrhenian Sea coast, we will spend pleasant time at the 12th-century historic cathedral, Fishermen’s Gate, and its authentic streets. After the tour, we arrive at our hotel in Palermo. Day 4: Monreale – Palermo After breakfast, we depart from the hotel for our Monreale tour. We visit Monreale Cathedral, the most important structure of Byzantine architecture in Sicily. With its 6,500 m² of glass mosaics, this cathedral is regarded as one of the masterpieces of Byzantine art and also one of the finest examples of Norman-period art. Afterwards, we return to Palermo city center. Politeama Square, Quattro Canti Square, Via Roma, and Via Libertà are among the places to be seen. Overnight at our hotel. Day 5: Erice – Castellammare del Golfo – Palermo – Istanbul Airport After breakfast, we complete our check-out procedures and, at the time determined by our guide, head to Erice, a typical medieval town with its walls, courtyard stone houses, and streets. During the free time we will have here, you will feel as if you have gone back to the Middle Ages. Then we move on to Castellammare del Golfo. This small but impressive town in Trapani stands out for its historical character and natural beauty. Its long coastline and the Aragonese Castle are among the places to be seen. After the tour, we proceed to Palermo Airport and, after passport and baggage procedures, depart for Istanbul at 19:15 on Turkish Airlines flight TK1374. We arrive at Istanbul Airport at 22:45 local time. End of our tour.
