Silver Three Countries, One Symphony “Switzerland, Germany, France” (BSL-GVA) with AJet Basel – Freiburg im Breisgau – Belfort (2 nights) – Zurich – Montreux – Lausanne – Geneva (2 nights) 4 nights 5 days Day 1 | Istanbul – Basel – Freiburg im Breisgau – Belfort | Wednesday Meeting at 05:30 in front of the AJet Airlines counter at the international departures terminal of Sabiha Gökçen Airport. After ticketing, baggage, and passport procedures, we depart for Basel at 08:30 on AJet Airlines flight VF105. We arrive at EuroAirport Basel-Mulhouse-Freiburg at 10:45 local time. After passport and baggage procedures, we leave the airport by coach for a panoramic Basel city tour. On our walking tour, the main places we will see include Altstadt, the city’s oldest settlement area; the Rathaus, famous for its Renaissance-era windows and golden clock; the iconic and historic red building of Marktplatz; Mittlere Brücke, the bridge over the Rhine River that divides the city in two; Basel Cathedral, Basler Münster; and Spalentor, the most impressive of the three remaining city gates from the 1400s. At the end of this tour, we proceed for the Freiburg im Breisgau tour. After approximately a 1-hour drive, we arrive in Freiburg, whose most important symbol is the Bächle, meaning the small canals fed by the waters from the rivers and streams surrounding the city. On our walking city tour, these water channels, Münsterplatz Square, Freiburg Cathedral with its Gothic architecture, Markthalle with restaurants offering world cuisines, and Martin’s Tower will be among the places we see. Freiburg is considered the birthplace of the famous Black Forest Cake (Schwarzwälder Kirschtorte), named after the pine forests located right next to the city, which are so dense that they do not let light through and therefore appear dark. After a short break to taste this cake, we continue to Belfort. Upon arrival, we complete our check-in and settle into our rooms. After a short journey, we begin our Mulhouse tour. On our walking tour, starting from Rue du Sauvage and continuing through the streets leading to Place de la Réunion, we will witness traces of history. Among the iconic structures of the city will be the European Tower and the Bollwerk Tower, one of the oldest remains of the city walls built in 1390, as well as St. Étienne Cathedral, whose Gothic architecture becomes especially festive during the Christmas period with the market set up in front of it. After the tour, we return to Belfort and our hotel. Day 2 | Belfort | Thursday [B] After breakfast at our hotel, free time. Guests who wish may join the optional Strasbourg, Riquewihr, Colmar, and Eguisheim tour organized by our guide. Overnight in Belfort at our 3-star ibis Belfort Danjoutin (or similar) hotel. → Strasbourg, Riquewihr, Colmar, and Eguisheim tour | 100 EUR adult - 75 EUR child (04-11.99 years) We begin our tour, which will take us to the most magical towns of France, with Strasbourg, which we will reach after approximately a 2-hour drive. Among the main places we will see are Grande Île, the historic center of the city and a UNESCO World Heritage Site; Strasbourg Notre Dame Cathedral, where Romanesque and Gothic architecture can be seen together; and Petite France, with houses dating back to the 16th and 17th centuries. Our next stop is Riquewihr. Riquewihr captivates visitors today as a village that has remained as it was in the 16th century. It is also famous for the Riesling and other fine wines produced there. After our walking tour here, we continue to Colmar. The city stands out with its well-preserved old buildings and attracts visitors with its many architectural works and museums of different styles. Built on the banks of the Rhine River, the city will enchant us with its streets and historic buildings. On our tour, the main places we will see include Colmar Old Town, St. Martin’s Church, Phister House, one of Colmar’s emblematic architectural landmarks, the Old Customs House Koifhus, and Tanner’s District, which today fascinates visitors with its timber-framed houses. After this visit, we head to the final stop of the day, Eguisheim, selected as France’s favorite village in 2013, where we will walk. Surrounded by vineyards, Eguisheim is a warm and charming medieval village, also famous for its quality Alsace wines. At the end of the tour, we return to Belfort and our hotel. Day 3 | Belfort – Zurich – Montreux – Lausanne – Geneva | Friday [B] After breakfast at our hotel, we check out and set off for Geneva. After an approximately 2.5-hour journey through the natural beauty of Switzerland, we arrive and begin our panoramic Zurich city tour. On our city tour, we will see the Grossmünster Abbey, one of the city’s most impressive structures with its twin towers; the Fraumünster Church, notable for its 19th-century stained-glass windows; Bahnhofstrasse, the shopping street adorned with the storefronts of famous Swiss brands; the Limmat River, which flows through the city into Lake Zurich; and the many beautiful bridges connecting the two sides of the city over the river. St. Peter’s Church, home to Europe’s largest clock face, is also among the places we will see. After the tour, we continue on our way. After approximately 2.5 hours, we arrive in Montreux, the city remembered in our history for the Treaty of Lausanne. After touring this beautiful city on the shores of Lake Geneva with a panoramic Montreux city tour, we continue to Lausanne, known to us from the treaty that formed the international legal foundation of our Republic. After a short drive, we arrive in the city on the shores of Lake Geneva. Following our panoramic Lausanne city tour, we proceed to our final stop of the day, Geneva, where we arrive about 1 hour later and begin our panoramic Geneva city tour. On our city tour, part of which will be on foot, the places we will see include Mont Blanc Bridge, Jean-Jacques Rousseau Island, the Flower Clock, St. Peter’s Cathedral, the Peace Park, and the United Nations Building. After the tour, transfer to our hotel. We complete check-in and settle into our rooms. Overnight in Geneva at our 4-star Geneva by Fassbind (or similar) hotel. Day 4 | Geneva | Saturday [B] After breakfast at our hotel, free time. Guests who wish may join the optional Annecy tour (France) organized by our guide. In the evening, guests who wish may join the optional Traditional Fondue menu and live music dinner tour organized by our guide. Overnight in Geneva at our 4-star Geneva by Fassbind (or similar) hotel. → Annecy tour (France) | 90 EUR adult - 65 EUR child (04-11.99 years) We depart for Annecy, described by geographer Raoul Blanchard as “the Pearl of the French Alps” because it appears nestled between Lake Annecy and the mountains. On our tour, we will discover the romantic city with its Venetian-style canals, charming narrow streets, attractive restaurants and cafés, and flowers blooming everywhere. After some free time, we meet at the place and time announced by our guide, then return to Geneva and our hotel by coach in approximately one hour. → Traditional Fondue menu and live music dinner tour | 90 EUR adult and child (No child discount) We will experience Fondue, the Alpine dish presented as the national food by the Swiss Cheese Union in 1930, in an authentic restaurant accompanied by live music. After this unique entertainment and experience, we return to our hotel. Day 5 | Geneva – Istanbul | Sunday [B] After breakfast at our hotel, we check out and depart for Geneva Airport at the transfer time announced by our guide. After ticketing, baggage, and passport procedures, we fly to Istanbul at 13:20 on AJet Airlines flight VF330. We arrive at Sabiha Gökçen Airport at 17:30 local time, marking the end of our tour.
