Overnight at our 4* Intourist Kolomonskoe hotel in Moscow (or similar). 2nd Day | Moscow | Tuesday [B] Arrival at Moscow Vnukovo Airport at 00:45 local time. After passport and baggage procedures, we transfer to our hotel by vehicle from the airport. Upon arrival, we complete check-in and settle into our rooms. After breakfast at our hotel, we depart for a panoramic Moscow city tour. Places to be seen on our city tour include Lenin Hills, now known as Sparrow Hills, Moscow University, Luzhniki Stadium, Novodevichy Convent, Tverskaya Street, Bolshoi Theatre, the historic Red Square, which has witnessed political and social events, the colorful onion-domed St. Basil’s Cathedral located in the square, and the Kremlin Palace. After the tour, return to our hotel. Overnight at our 4* Intourist Kolomonskoe hotel in Moscow (or similar). 3rd Day | Moscow | Wednesday [B] After breakfast at our hotel, free time. Guests who wish may join the optional Moscow Icons Tour organized by our guide. → Moscow Icons Tour | 90 EUR Adult - 65 EUR Child (04-11.99 years) Depart from our hotel by vehicle for Novodevichy Cemetery, where Nazım Hikmet’s grave is located. The cemetery is located next to Novodevichy Convent, one of the most important monasteries in Russia, founded in 1524. Although it was intended to be destroyed by Napoleon’s order in 1812, the nuns managed to prevent this decision. In the cemetery, in addition to the graves of Russia’s leading figures in art, science, and politics, we will visit Nazım Hikmet’s grave. From here, we continue our tour by Moscow Metro. Construction of the Moscow Metro, begun by Stalin in 1931, is commonly regarded as the most beautiful metro in the world in terms of interior architecture and decoration, even though it is compared with the metros of New York, Paris, or London in terms of size. After a short ride by metro, we will exit near the Kremlin Palace. Kremlin Palace, where Russian President Vladimir Putin’s office is also located, also houses the Cathedral of the Dormition, considered Moscow’s most important church since the 14th century, as well as the world’s largest bell and cannon. After our visit to the Kremlin, we will walk to the Old Arbat Street. Arbat Street, running through the center of Moscow, is a car-free street that everyone who visits the city at least once enjoys walking from one end to the other. Here, you can browse the colorful shop windows, buy souvenirs, taste fine examples of Russian and world cuisine, and sit in elegant cafés that would not look out of place in Paris. From there, we return to our hotel by vehicle. 4th Day | Moscow – St. Petersburg | Thursday [B] After breakfast at our hotel, we check out and have free time until transfer time. At the transfer time announced by our guide, we head to Moscow train station. After an approximately 5-hour pleasant journey by high-speed train, arrival in St. Petersburg. Transfer to our hotel by the vehicle waiting at the station. Upon arrival, we complete check-in and settle into our rooms. Overnight at our 4* Cosmos Saint-Petersburg Pribaltiyskaya Hotel in St. Petersburg (or similar). 5th Day | St. Petersburg | Friday [B] After breakfast at our hotel, we depart for a panoramic St. Petersburg city tour. St. Petersburg, Russia’s second-largest city after Moscow, is also a very important center for art, science, and tourism. It also holds an important place in industry. Founded in 1703 by Tsar Peter I, the places we will see in the city include Nevsky Avenue, which stretches 4.5 km and is the heart of the city, the Church of the Savior on Spilled Blood, the Aurora Cruiser, Ministry Buildings, the Winter Palace, and Palace Square. After the tour, return to our hotel. In the afternoon, guests who wish may join the optional St. Petersburg Icons Tour organized by our guide. In the evening, guests who wish may join the optional dinner and show Russian Night Tour organized by our guide. Located on the banks of the Neva River, the Hermitage Museum, which houses approximately 4 million works from the Tsarist era and is one of the largest museums in the world and in Russia, is listed in the Guinness World Records as the museum with the largest collection of paintings. After this visit, we will take a boat trip along the canals. On our canal tour, we will see St. Petersburg from within its canals and extend to the Neva River. At the end of this excursion, we continue our tour with Peter and Paul Cathedral. This cathedral, which is definitely worth seeing for its splendor, was the first structure built in St. Petersburg in the 1700s by Peter. The cathedral in the fortress on the Neva River and the graves of members of the Romanov Dynasty inside attract visitors here. Included in the UNESCO World Heritage List, the town was first established in the early 18th century under the name Tsarskoye Selo, containing structures belonging to the royal family, but over time changed names and is now known by the name of the famous Russian poet and writer Pushkin. Upon arrival, we begin visiting the most important structure in the village, Catherine Palace. Used as a summer palace during the Russian Empire period, this palace is most famous for Rastrelli’s magnificent official rooms known as the Golden Enfilade. It begins with the grand ballroom, “Great Hall” or “Hall of Lights,” with its magnificent painted ceiling, and consists of many smaller rooms richly decorated, including the recreated Amber Room. After that, we will take a walk through Catherine Park, including the palace gardens, pond, and pools, and then give free time for lunch. After free time, return to St. Petersburg and our hotel.
