Need to Know
GENERAL TERMS
- The General Terms are an integral part of the tour program and cannot be considered separately from it.
- If sufficient participation is not achieved for the trip, Wtatil may cancel the tour up to 21 days before the departure date. In such a case, the cancellation information will be communicated to the guest. The full tour price will be refunded to the guest. For additional services purchased outside the tour, the domestic connecting flight ticket purchased from Wtatil will also be refunded to the guest. If a visa service and travel health insurance were used to apply for a visa on behalf of the guest, these services will have been used and therefore cannot be refunded. If no visa application has been made, the visa and travel health insurance will also be canceled and refunded. If the guest purchased the domestic connecting flight from a provider other than Wtatil, no refund may be claimed from Wtatil in the event that the trip is canceled by Wtatil. The guest accepts in advance, upon purchasing the tour, any material or moral losses that may arise from the cancellation of the tour, and Wtatil cannot be held responsible.
- If sufficient participation is not achieved for the trip, Wtatil has the right, in good faith, not to cancel the tour. In this case, since the tour will be provided individually for the guest, the included guiding service will only cover the round-trip airport transfers abroad.
Cancellation and Changes
- Our guests have the right to cancel without penalty up to 30 days before the tour departure date, provided that they notify Wtatil in writing, excluding plane tickets that have been paid for and/or committed to the airline by Wtatil. If there are 31 days or fewer remaining until the trip start date, they may cancel by paying a penalty equal to 50% of the remaining tour fee after the plane ticket price. If there are 15 days or fewer remaining until the trip start date, they may cancel by paying the full tour fee as a penalty. In the event of a cancellation request, refunds for additional services such as domestic connections, visa services, and travel health insurance may vary depending on the cancellation period, so information should be obtained in advance regarding their refund conditions. Wtatil cannot make any commitment regarding the refund of additional services.
Guiding Services and Optional Tours
- The days and times of the tours specified in the program may be changed by the guide depending on the opening/closing status of museums and historical sites at the destinations and on weather conditions. Different guides may accompany our guests during the tours.
- Panoramic city tours included in the tour package are tours arranged to introduce the cities in general, conducted from the vehicle with guide commentary, lasting no more than 2-3 hours, and do not include museum or historical site entrance fees. Wtatil is not responsible for the inability to carry out panoramic tours, including other tours specified in the program, if they cannot be conducted on the relevant day and time due to restrictions by local authorities, closure of roads because of any event, or if weather conditions make the tour impossible. Some tours may be conducted by public transportation or on foot where there are closed roads or locations where vehicle access is not permitted, if possible.
- Our guide may change the days of city tours and/or additional tours according to the content of our tours, the number of participants, and the closure status of museums and historical sites. This also applies in the event of changes in flight times.
- Important points to consider on our tours conducted with speedboats: do not eat heavy meals or drink large amounts of water immediately before boarding the boat. Guests with stomach, back, or neck complaints, as well as pregnant guests, must inform their guide of their condition.
- If participation is not made in the tour or meal services included in the price, there is no refund.
Regarding Flights
- Wtatil acts as an intermediary between the airline and the passenger; in possible disputes, in addition to the relevant provisions of Turkish law, the Hague Protocol and the Warsaw Convention shall apply.
- Delays or flight time changes may occur on scheduled and charter flights. Wtatil is obliged to notify these changes as soon as possible. The passenger purchases the trip accepting the risk of changes/cancellations of flight times.
- Children aged 0-2 pay only the airport tax.
- According to airline rules; if the outbound flight of round-trip tickets is not used, the return flight will be canceled by the airline.
- For those participating in tours with flights, check-in and boarding procedures are personal responsibilities and must be completed by the guest before the flight at the relevant airline counters at the airport or online on the airline’s website.
- Last-minute delays and gate changes that may occur on flights are announced through loudspeaker announcements at airports and displayed on information boards. This information must be followed personally by the guests.
- Wtatil is not responsible if guests who do not arrive at the specified airport at the times notified in accordance with airline rules, who do not complete check-in and boarding on time, or who complete check-in and boarding on time but do not board the plane, cannot complete their flight. All costs for obtaining new round-trip tickets and any transfers, etc. required for missed flights to join the tour will be borne by the guests.
- The general baggage allowance for flights departing from Turkey is 20 kg. This may vary depending on the airline and destination country. If there are domestic flights in the destination country, the baggage allowance on these domestic flights may be reduced to 15 kg. Excess baggage weight/fee rules are determined by the airlines and are not the responsibility of Wtatil.
- For guests wishing to upgrade their flight tickets with miles (to business or first class), the upgrade can be made after the tickets are issued, subject to availability by the airline (please check your membership airline). Mileage is not guaranteed for every flight. Please check whether the program tickets are in an upgradeable class.
- On some airlines, food, beverage, and online check-in services may be subject to an additional fee.
Other Matters
- Wtatil will not accept responsibility for any changes or cancellations made by the guest by contacting the hotel directly. In such cases, Wtatil’s cancellation conditions shall apply.
- If the hotel(s) in the tour program are specified only by category information without naming them and/or are offered as alternatives for the same destination, Wtatil will inform the guest 48 hours before departure.
- During special periods such as fairs, congresses, concerts, events, sports tournaments, etc., hotels may be used farther away from the specified locations or distances. In such a case, Wtatil will provide information 15 days before the departure date of the tour.
- When registering for the purchased tour, the name as it appears in the passport, date of birth, and passport number must be entered into the system correctly / declared by the guest. Airline tickets are issued based on this information. The penalty for cancellation or changes to airline tickets arising from incorrect information will be charged to the guests.
- In order to use your mobile phone abroad, before leaving Turkey, check with your mobile service provider whether your phone is enabled for international use.
- Hotel check-in time is 15:00 and check-out time is 12:00.
- Wtatil will notify the hotel of requests regarding the room (high floor, close to common areas, smoking/non-smoking, bed type). Efforts are made to ensure that the reserved rooms match the guest’s preferences, depending on the hotel’s availability. Fulfilling these requests depends on availability at the time of check-in and cannot be guaranteed by Wtatil.
- Breakfast served at hotels differs from the rich breakfast customary in Turkish cuisine. It is generally served as a limited continental breakfast consisting of butter, jam, bread, tea, or coffee, and for groups it may be served in a separate room allocated to the group.
- In some cases, instead of a twin-bed room, there may be a double bed. Most European hotels offer rooms with two beds that can be joined together if necessary.
- Child and extra bed policies may vary by hotel and room type.
- Any extra bed or baby cot is provided upon request and subject to the hotel’s availability and must be approved by the hotel.
- The maximum capacity for an extra bed or baby cot in a room is 1.
- In triple rooms, an extra bed is used; in such rooms, the bed assigned to the third person is smaller than standard beds. Triple rooms consist of 1 large bed + 1 extra bed. Extra beds are foldable/collapsible beds or coach beds. Our guests are deemed to have accepted the possible cramped conditions in rooms and the bed type resulting from the extra bed added to standard rooms in triple-room and/or child-inclusive reservations.
- If the number and ages of children staying with adults, as stated in hotel reservations, are incorrectly declared by our guests, the relevant hotels may charge additional fees. In such a case, responsibility belongs to the guest who made the incorrect declaration. The hotel may request identification to verify the child’s age.
- In reservations for 2 adults + 1 child, there may not be a separate bed for the child. Child prices are valid only if the child stays with two adults. Child discounts apply only to a “single child” in the age group staying with 2 adults.
- Daily exchange rate fluctuations are reflected in prices in TL. The rates valid at the time of payment apply. Additional requests, some extra services you receive at the hotel (minibar, ironing, etc.) are subject to extra charges by the hotel. These costs are not included in the purchase price and are paid directly to the hotel during your stay.
- Some countries have different practices regarding city, tourism, or local taxes. Any such city, tourism, or other taxes are collected by the hotel from the guest at check-in or check-out.
- Distances given in the programs are map-based. Travel times may be longer due to traffic, weather conditions, the geographical location of the destination country, roadworks, and road conditions.
- Wtatil may, when necessary or deemed appropriate, change the order of cities in the program and the main airline to be used, without altering the content of the program.
- The personal belongings, bags, suitcases, passports/IDs of persons participating in the tour are under their own responsibility, and Wtatil is not responsible for items that are forgotten, lost, or stolen. If forgotten items are found, any costs incurred in delivering them to the country and/or person are borne by the owner of the item.
- Participants in the tour are required to carry their travel health insurance policies and, if they have any health issues, the relevant medication and reports with them.
- For possible extra expenses, the hotel may request a photo ID/passport issued by official institutions and a credit card or cash deposit at check-in. The refund of the deposit requested at check-out is a transaction between the hotel and the guest, and Wtatil has no involvement.
Visa and Passport
- There is no visa requirement for Turkish citizens.
- Our guests’ passports must be valid for at least 6 months from the end date of the trip.
- For customs crossings/border gates, your passport must have at least 2 blank pages so that entry/exit stamps can be placed in it.
- Being exempt from a visa to enter the countries on this tour does not mean that entry to or exit from the country is guaranteed; the passport police have the authority to allow or refuse your entry/exit, and Wtatil is not responsible for this; responsibility lies with the passenger.
- Guests who are not Turkish citizens or who have dual citizenship and will participate in the tour using their other country’s passport must consult the relevant consulates directly regarding the visa procedures applied by the destination country to the passport they will use; otherwise, Wtatil will not be responsible for any resulting consequences.
- To avoid problems with customs police at the border gate of the country to be visited due to torn, worn, wet, and/or similarly damaged passports, passports must be renewed. Otherwise, responsibility lies with the passenger.
- Since border police on entry/exit may ask for a document showing the mutual consent of both parents when guests under 18 travel alone or with only one of their parents, we recommend that guests under 18 and their parents be careful in this regard.
