ALSACE / BASEL – (Alsace Pearls: Colmar & Riquewihr Tour) – STRASBOURG – FREIBURG – ALSACE / BASEL
After breakfast we depart for Strasbourg. En route, guests who wish may join our optional Alsace Pearls: Colmar & Riquewihr Tour (80 Euro). On this tour, we first visit the fairytale town of Colmar, where we will see the Old Customs House, Pfister House, and the most famous part of the city, Petite Venise (Little Venice), with its colorful houses around the Rhine River. In this unique setting surrounded by the Rhine River and canals, you will have the chance to enjoy many delicious foods and buy numerous souvenirs. Our next stop in the Alsace region is Riquewihr, famous for its vineyards, flowered balconies, distinctive rows of shops, cobblestone streets closed to car traffic, buildings that somehow survived World War II without damage, and charming cafés; with its tower, home to the Dolder Museum that preserves the town’s history through documents, it resembles a Grimm fairy tale. After our visit to Riquewihr, we continue our journey to Strasbourg. Located on the borders of Germany, Switzerland, and France, and also the largest city in the Alsace region, Strasbourg welcomes us like a painting straight out of a fairy tale. Added to the UNESCO World Heritage List in 1988 and serving as the home of the European Parliament since 1992, Strasbourg’s vehicle-free center and streets will be explored on foot during our panoramic city tour, where we will see Gutenberg Square and Statue, Notre Dame Cathedral, the city’s most important building located in its very heart, and Kammerzell House, the city’s oldest house and still operating today as a hotel and restaurant. After free time following the Strasbourg tour, we head to Freiburg, one of the finest examples of green urban living. In Freiburg, where only low-carbon vehicles have been allowed since 2010 and transportation is largely by tram and bicycle, our city tour will reveal traces of the city’s historical and architectural influences from Germany, France, Austria, Spain, and Sweden. Known as the capital of the Black Forest (Schwarzwald), the city’s most important symbol, Freiburg Cathedral, the small water canals unique to Freiburg, the charming streets, the medieval Martin’s Gate, and Rathausplatz are among the places to be seen. After the tour, we return to our hotel in the Alsace region.
ALSACE/BASEL – BERN – (Train to Swiss Alpine Villages: Interlaken & Lauterbrunnen Tour) – GENEVA

The presence of the headquarters of international organizations such as CERN, the World Health Organization, UEFA, FIFA, and the United Nations gives the city a central cultural and administrative role. During our visit to Geneva, where museums, parks, historic monuments, streets, and clean air come together, the main places to be seen are St. Pierre Cathedral, the Jet d’Eau fountain, which has become a symbol of Geneva and rises up to 140 meters, and the Reformation Wall. After the city tour, we depart for Milan. En route, guests who wish may join our optional Annecy Tour (50 Euro).
